Niander Wallace runs the Wallace Corporation, which took over replicant manufacturing after the Tyrell Corporation collapsed. He is blind but compensates with technological aids. Wallace is obsessed with unlocking the secret of replicant biological reproduction, which he believes will allow humanity to colonize the stars. He sends his replicant enforcer, Luv, to monitor blade runner K and later kidnaps former blade runner Rick Deckard, offering Deckard a duplicate of his lost love Rachael in exchange for information about the child's whereabouts. When Deckard refuses, Wallace has Luv kill the duplicate.

In Their Own Story

Wallace first appears when K visits the Wallace Corporation to investigate the remains of a female replicant who died during a caesarean section. Wallace learns of the deceased replicant's romantic ties with former blade runner Rick Deckard. Later, after Luv kidnaps Deckard, Wallace meets with him and offers a duplicate Rachael in exchange for information about the child's whereabouts. Deckard refuses, and Wallace has Luv kill the duplicate. Wallace then orders Luv to transport Deckard to be tortured off-world.
