Tyrell
The creator who could not grant his creations more life.
Eldon Tyrell is the founder and CEO of the Tyrell Corporation, the company that engineered the Nexus-6 replicants. He is a visionary genetic scientist who believes that implanting replicants with memories will create an emotional cushion, making them more controllable. Tyrell resides in a secluded pyramid-shaped sanctuary high above Los Angeles, isolated from the consequences of his work. He is the creator of Rachael, the sole Nexus-7 replicant, whom he gave the implanted memories of his niece. Tyrell refers to Roy Batty as his "prodigal son" during their confrontation, but ultimately cannot extend Batty's lifespan, leading to his own death.

Lore & Background
Tyrell's philosophy centers on the belief that replicants' limited lifespan prevents them from developing emotional control, so he implants memories to create a cushion for emotional development. He designed the Nexus-6 models with a four-year lifespan as a safety mechanism. His sanctuary is a massive pyramid structure where he conducts experiments on memory implantation. When Roy Batty confronts him, Tyrell tells Batty that his life cannot be extended and that he should revel in the life he has, as he has done and seen things others could only dream of. Tyrell is killed by Batty after this confrontation. In Blade Runner 2049, it is revealed that Tyrell gave Rachael, the sole Nexus-7, the ability to reproduce.
